It Started In Deer Valley

The idea for MNTNMEDS didn't begin in a laboratory. It began with my wife.

We were sitting inside a mountain lodge after skiing a few runs when she suddenly didn't feel like herself, off balance, foggy, clearly uncomfortable. Outside, a storm system was moving through the peaks. Inside, I just wanted her to feel okay again.

A server brought her an espresso and mentioned that he tends to feel it too when weather rolls through at elevation. Between the caffeine, some water, and just giving her body a little time, she came back to herself.

What stayed with me wasn't the espresso.

It was realizing how common these experiences really were.

The more time I spent in mountain towns, the more I noticed people dealing with headaches, fatigue, brain fog, and that same "off" feeling. Then I started talking to friends, family, and other travelers. It seemed like almost everyone had a story.

The first time it happens, it's unsettling. You wonder what's going on. Eventually you learn it's just part of being at elevation, but that doesn't make it any less frustrating when it interrupts the trip you've spent months planning.

And that's what bothered me.

People spend thousands of dollars on flights, hotels, lift tickets, bike rentals, guides, and unforgettable mountain adventures. Those experiences deserve real support, and there were surprisingly few convenient, high-quality options built for that.

When I looked for a product I'd trust enough to give my own family, I couldn't find one.

Everything felt like an afterthought.

So we created MNTNMEDS.
